Why Are My Coils Burning Fast?

We’ve all been there when our coils burn out quicker than we were expecting, but did you know there are a number of reasons why this could happen?

We will outline some of the main reasons your coil could be burning out quick.

Priming your coil

The number 1 reason for your coil burning out quick is down to human error. Every time you use a brand new coil, it is important to fill up your tank and allow 3-5 minutes for the coil to sit in the e-liquid before you vape it.

This allows enough time for the dry cotton on the inside of the coil to absorb enough e-liquid. If you fail to do this, you will be vaping on dry cotton, which will ruin your coil and cannot be fixed. We’ve all been there! Simply replace with a new coil and remember to be patient.

Over-vaping

Have you ever been incredibly focused on one thing and don’t even realise how much you have just vaped? This can burn out your coil!

If you vape a lot in a short period of time, you can burn the coil out by not leaving it enough time to reabsorb some e-liquid. The coil will also get too hot and start to burn.

We would recommend taking about 3-5 puffs before allowing the device to sit for a few minutes. This allows time for the coil to cool down and soak up some more e-liquid.

Settings too high

If you’re using a device which allows you to adjust your wattage output settings, you could be using it too high.

Have a look at your coil and you will see small writing telling you what the best settings are to use. For example, 1 coil may say something along the lines of 8-13W. Every coil is different, so make sure you check yours carefully.

For the example shown above, we would start on 8W of power, and slowly increase if you need to. Do not go over the recommend amount. Doing so will burn your coil.

Sweet E-Liquid

Is your e-liquid very sweet? This can be a reason as to why your coils may be burning out quickly. Although the flavours taste amazing, you will be sacrificing the longevity of your coils. These types of e-liquids are often referred to as coil-killers. If you suspect this might be the issue, try a different brand of e-liquid and compare the results.

Fake coils?

You’ll be surprised how many fake vaping products are available. Many times, users complain about their coils purchased on sites like Amazon or eBay. If you’re purchasing from unknown sellers, be careful and always read the reviews. Although the cheap price may be tempting, the chances are they will be fake.

We source all of our products from reputable wholesalers in the United Kingdom, ensuring all products are legally compliant and authentic.

Finding out why your coil is burning is often a process of elimination to find out what the culprit is. If you’re sure you’re doing nothing wrong, then do get in touch and we will happily discuss the issue and get you back on track.
