Top 3 Pod Kits 2021

Last year, we highlighted the best pod kits of 2020 with the UWELL Caliburn Pod, SMOK Nord Kit, and the Vinci X kit by VooPoo. Although these are still great devices, new devices are continuously being introduced to the market. As we are now entering 2021, we thought we would update the list of our top pod kit devices at the moment.

1. UWELL Caliburn G

The original Caliburn made our top 3 kits last year, and if it wasn’t for the new updated Caliburn G, we would still include the original Caliburn! UWELL have really smashed it with the Caliburn Kits, whether it’s the Caliburn, Caliburn KoKo, and now the Caliburn G!

Built-in is a 690mAh battery which features fast charging thanks to the USB-C Port found on the bottom of the device. USB-C is becoming the new normal with vape devices and for good reason. The ports are extremely reliable and charge the battery a lot quicker when compared to the older micro-USB ports.

Unlike the original Caliburn, the G comes with pods which allow you to change the coils rather than replacing the entire pod. This is great for the environment and also cheaper to run as coils cost less than a whole new pod with a coil built-in! There are two coils included in the box, a 0.8ohm and 1.0ohm coil.

Another new feature is the dual airflow design, and it couldn’t be simpler! On the bottom of the pod, you will find a small airflow inlet. On the side of the device itself, you will find a small hole for airflow. If you insert the pod with the airflow inlet on the pod matching the same side as the hole on the device, you will experience more airflow. So, if you turn the pod around with the airflow inlet further away, you will experience a tighter draw. Play around and see what works best for you.

2. EXCEED Grip Pro Kit

The EXCEED Grip Pro kit by Joyetech slipped under the radar and never gained the same popularity as some of the other pod kits available. I too am guilty of paying it little to no attention when it was first released. That was until I tried one, and let me say, my experience with the Grip Pro has been nothing but fantastic!

The Grip Pro is a mighty little device which can create some really good vapour, competing with the typical MTL devices on the market. The Grip Pro will fit very comfortably in the palm of your hand thanks to its small and compact design.

Built-in is a 1000mAh battery which the capability of outputting 1-40W. In the box, you get two different coils, a 1.2ohm coil which is more suited for MTL users and a 0.4ohm coil which is designed to produce a lot more vapour. When using the different coils, be sure to adjust your settings accordingly. Settings can be adjust using the two buttons underneath the display, and above the charging port.

The pod provided does not need to be replaced every time you change your coil. You can keep using the same pod. On the side of the pod, you will find a rubber flap which can be opened, revealing a hole for filling. On the other side of the pod, there is a slider which is your airflow control. There is a fine bit of tape over the airflow slider when you first take the device out the box. Be sure to remove this and any other bits of tape you see.

The great thing about the replacement pods, is that you can also use the pods from the original Grip kit. These pods come with a built-in coil, so If changing the coil is not for you, then you do have the option with these pods.

3. Nautilus Prime Kit

The Nautilus Prime Kit by Aspire is a larger style pod kit which is perfect if you’re looking for something that will get you through the day with ease!

The device has a built-in 2000mAh battery with the capability of outputting 1-60W of power. It is more intended for MTL vaping; however, you do get a 0.7ohm coil which can produce a bit more vapour.

The Nautilus Prime, like the other two devices above, come with a pod which does not need to be replaced when changing the coils. The coils used with the Prime are the Nautilus coils which aspire use in many of their devices. They have proven to be some of the best MTL coils.

Aspire have fitted this pod kit with a USB-C charging port to allow for faster charging which is always a plus! You will find adjustable airflow on the front of the device, this is all personal preference, so try it and see what you’re most comfortable with.

All in all, the Nautilus Prime is a well-built pod kit which can give you a really good vaping experience all day long!
